Churches & Places of Worship
We are often asked, "What would it take to get you to sing at our church?", and our
answer is always the same - "Just invite us!". From New York and Florida to Maryland and Oklahoma,
we have never required a certain amount to sing at any church, so if you'd like to have us come
to your church for a concert, homecoming, revival, youth rally, festival
or other event, please, contact us today. We do ask that whenever possible, you provide a love offering plus an
expense check of an amount your church is comfortable with. The expense check will help offset fixed recurring
costs (transportation and equipment, insurance, clothing, merchandise and recording, promotion, etc.) while the
love offering will provide a cushion for fuel, meals, lodging and unexpected costs. These costs mostly remain the
same, regardless of how near or far away we're singing. It may be true that it wasn't much of an expense for us to
get to your church, but what you provide will help us be able to get to the next place. Rest assured that
regardless of what you are able to provide, our presentation of the Gospel in song and testimony remains consistent
from place to place. If your church simply cannot afford an expense check of any amount, we will gladly come on a
love offering-only basis within a 100 mile radius and sometimes beyond. Contact us today, and we believe that God
will work out the details.
Ticketed events, town festivals, etc.
Within a 150 mile radius and when no overnight lodging is required (or if you are providing
rooms), we ask for a donation of $0.65 per round-trip mile with a $350 minimum. Beyond a 150 mile radius and when
overnight travel is necessary and we are responsible for the rooms, we ask for a donation equal to $0.85 per mile
with a $500 minimum. These rates are based on our cost to travel and are subject to change depending on fuel
prices and other factors.
Benefit Concerts
We are glad to perform several benefit concerts each year. If there is a need that we may be
able to help with, we'd love the opportunity to do so. We will perform such benefit concerts free of any charge
whenever possible within a 50 mile radius and when no overnight travel is required. Beyond that, we will work with
you as best we can in order to meet our expenses only.
General Monetary Policy
Experience has shown that there are those who are offended at the mere mention of money when discussing a date. However, we
go above and beyond to ensure that no one would ever be able to honestly accuse this ministry of being greedy. We
have been to places that gave us $53 or that gave $250 after we'd driven over 1,000 miles to get there. If we were
greedy, then we'd have never sung in those places! However, if every date was that way, then the ministry
wouldn't be able to stay financially afloat for very long. Yes, we DO have faith that God
will meet our needs, but at the same time, we feel a responsibility to do our part as well. It reminds me of a
garden - only God can take an old dry seed and turn it into a beautiful, blooming, yield-bearing plant, but he gives
us the responsibility of seeing that it's watered! Just like it's part of a pastor's job to encourage his members
to tithe as instructed in order to support the local church, we believe it is part of our job to do our best to see
that this ministry is supported. All finances are discussed prior to the date at your church. Also, rest assured
that we will NEVER come to a place and spend 15 minutes begging the audience to give as much as they can in the
offering or begging them to purchase our recorded products or other merchandise.
We realize that a substantial portion of the moneys we receive comes from individual donations from those in
attendance at our concerts. We also know that many of these individuals have reached the age of retirement and are on fixed incomes.
To many, what they give requires a real sacrifice and they consider it to be offerings over and above
their normal church tithes. We do not take those sacrifices lightly, and we are committed to being as sound of financial
stewards as we can possibly be with what God provides.
We are not a full-time ministry. None of our members depends on the ministry as a source of income. God has provided
each of us with jobs or other income sources that are sufficient to provide for our families. We do not own a bus.
We travel in a conversion van and tow our equipment in a trailer. The vast majority of our dates are
within a 200 mile radius and most do not require an overnight stay. As nice as it would be to own a
dependable custom coach, it would be a huge financial burden on our ministry that we would then have to pass on to
the churches who'd like to book us, which we feel would be neither fair nor feasible. On occassion, we will lease a custom
coach or hire a driver for long-distance trips when rest must become a priority.
