Bob Sellers, from Gordo, AL, sings the lead part and serves as manager and emcee for the group. Bob credits the Lord above for his abilities, and his parents, Robert and Helen, for the Christian influence they placed on his life, which kept him involved in church and with gospel music. Bob's sole desire is to tell others about the One who died for him, as to help win lost souls to Jesus Christ. He has had the privilege of filling in with professional groups such as The Kingsmen and Driven Quartet and counts every opportunity to minister as an honor. Bob and his wife, Kansas, reside in Gordo, AL and have three children; Corley, Ellie & Will. Bob is an ordained Deacon and has been a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Carrollton since 1984, when he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior during a revival service. His late grandfather, Rev. Paul E. Sellers, founded his home church in 1978 and also had a profound impact on Bob’s life. He is a 1998 graduate of The University of Alabama where he majored in Finance, and is currently employed as a Commercial Loan Officer. Bob's voice is strong, and he is able to deliver a song with the range and effectiveness of today's top lead quartet singers. Favorite singers of his include the late Glen Payne and currents Ivan Parker and Danny Funderburk. There are few places Bob would rather be than on a stage singing gospel music. However, when not singing, he can usually be found somewhere with his wife and kids or with a camera, with his Labrador Retrievers, by a campfire, in a treestand, watching Alabama Crimson Tide football, handling Capstone business on his laptop or Android…or any combination of those! His nickname is "Nicolas' and his favorite foods are steak (Filet, medium-rare), Chinese, Italian and Southern Fare. Dale Taylor, from Sulligent, AL was formerly with the Crownsmen and Straightway quartets. Dale brings a unique tenor voice to the group, and does an outstanding job hitting the high notes found in traditional quartet harmony and singing heart-felt solos. Dale also is a gifted pianist and bass guitar player. He and his wife Denise are proud to have long been a part of the Capstone Quartet Ministry. Their desires have always been to see hearts and lives touched and souls saved. The Taylors are active members of Military Grove Full Gospel Church in Sulligent. They have two children, Nikki Bobbitt and Eric Taylor and one grandson, Ethan Bobbitt. In 2009, Dale was injured in a fall at his home one morning as he was leaving out to meet the group and was forced to take more than a six-month hiatus from the stage. Following the accident and subsequent surgery, he was limited to a wheelchair, forced to retire from his job, and we all thought at the time that he would never be able to return. However, God had other plans! After a second surgery, his leg began to heal and he was able to return to handling the duties of tenor and walking without the need of any assistance. Outside of the accident and scheduled time off, Dale has never missed a single engagement since he joined the group. His nickname is “Little Big Man” and some of his favorite foods are barbeque, coconut cake and grape salad. Dave Ezell, from Pinson, AL, sings the baritone part. Dave gives God the glory for all things in his life and is 100% committed to serving the Lord in any capacity or place that God calls him to. It is this unwavering commitment that brought Dave to the Capstone in April 2010. After serving 22 years as a United States Marine, Dave returned home to Pinson in 1995 where he and his lovely bride of 37 years, Debby, have faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Pinson. Dave has served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and in all phases of the music ministry there. He credits his deep love for the Lord and his compassion for people to his parents Bill and Jean who nurtured him, as well as his 3 brothers and sister, in the light of God’s love. Dave has been involved in various forms of musical performance including a cappella barbershop harmony and southern gospel music with quartets like Faithful Men and Sheltered Harbor. Dave is currently employed as a Service manager with RSC Equipment Rental. Dave and Debby have 2 fine sons, Jason and Jesse. When not on the road with Capstone, Dave may be found spoiling his 3 grandchildren or spending time with Debby and their Siberian Husky, Liebe (“Lee-bah”). Hobbies include motorcycling and enjoying his farm in Blount County doing anything from working the soil to fishing, hunting or just taking in God’s beautiful creation. In the fall it’s all about Crimson Tide Football. His favorite quartets include The Cathedrals and The Kingsmen, and his favorite foods include anything that doesn’t eat him first. Dave’s most common nicknames are “D2” and “Big Easy”, which stems from his laid-back demeanor in spite of his tall frame and the time he spent in the U.S. Marine Corps. Kevin Hodges, from Trussville, AL filled in at tenor for several months before Dale was able to return to full-time duty. Today, he serves as an occasional backup for Dale, and they both sing with us together every now and then as a rare treat. Kevin has a high and smooth tenor voice and always receives a very warm welcome from Capstone audiences. Before filling in with Capstone, he sang tenor with Steel City Quartet of Birmingham for approximately ten years. Kevin makes his home in Trussville, AL and he recently completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Huntington College. In addition to serving as Minister of Music at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Gardendale, Kevin is employed with Royal Cup Coffee in Birmingham where he works in the collection department. His favorite food is Chinese and his nickname is “Swervin”. Though we haven’t quite determined the story behind that nickname, we are yet to let him drive!
